Hello,
I've recently noticed some verges (I think that's the right word for them) missing off my roof gables. It's the end piece of the roof tile that provides the water seal that's missing. There are around 14 pieces\covers missing, including 3 of the very end pieces on the gables.

What's the fix for this? Is it a cement and mortar job on a ladder\scaffolding? Or does it need caps to be put on the end?

Any idea of cost and whether I can get a local builder to do it or does it need to be a roof specialist firm?

Thanks in advance (pics attached)

You need the verges repointing or to avoid future recurrances you could install a dry verge system as shown on photo 3. A roofer would be the most likely choice but some builders may also undertake the job. I would obtain at least 3 quotes to compare like for like and decide from there.
