Damp in old houses.

It amazes me the amount of posts regarding damp issues in old houses where cement has been used instead of breathable materials and could be a possible cause.
Do any plasterers actually use traditional materials anymore?

Its a shame these skills are being lost, its a bigger shame lots of old buildings might suffer as a result.
