Damp Problem - Advice Needed!!!!

Over the winter a drain pipe from my guttering came loose and the water ran down the outside wall. As a result damp has come through to the inside creating a large brown stain on the inside wall.

However since fixing the drainpipe it seems to have dried out and the plaster etc seems to be OK (just a bit of peeling paint).

Before re painting do I need to treat the wall in some way outside and/or the plaster/wall inside?

Is there a spray that indicates wether the damp is fully dried out and if i can re paint.

The main thing is to make sure the wall/plaster has dried out fully, then give it a coat of polycell stain stop ( http://www.polycell.co.uk/webapp/wc...Id=10302&catalogId=4&langId=-1&productId=5473 ) that link should take you to the right page, if not try www.polycell.co.uk . That will stop any water stains showing through, as for the outside if you've cured the problem then you should'nt need to take any action.
