I have taken up our laminate to insulate under the floor, only to find a fair sized damp area by the back door. The door is not in the original position, ours comes off the back of the dining room rather than kitchen like the rest of the road. I am a bit clueless on damp proofing etc, I wonder if whoever moved the door was the same!
The door leads onto the side return, and the guttering above the kitchen is damaged, so there is some run off down the external wall. Not sure if this would be the cause? It looks to me like the damp is coming from under the door frame.
