We’ve suddenly got this damp patch under the bay window in the living room and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what could be causing it. We’ve asked a roofer to come out and a general builder but they’re not available until later in the week and I’m just slightly worried as the water seems to be all around the electrics. I just thought someone might have a good idea on what’s causing it. Thanks for any help!

Photos of the exterior would help.

It may be the case that the upper damp is from a crack in the masonry window sill on the outside, Difficult to say though.

Is this a new build or recently plastered room? I can see that one layer of paint that has failed.

Thanks very much, I’ve took some pictures of the outside. I can’t see that the masonary is cracked but I wondered if it needed repointing? No it’s a terrace built in around 1900, this room hasn’t been painted since early 2020 and there hasn’t been any issue until now.
