I have a problem with rising damp in the outside wall of a utility room.Solid wall 230 m.m thick rendered outside and painted Sandtex masonary paint, presume due to age that no dpc.Inside fully tiled but salts coming through grouting to height of 1.6 metres.Intend removing outside rendering to about 150 m.m above ground level, drilling through mortar courses at 120 m.m intervals and injecting a cream which reportedly uses the water present in the mortar to disperse and form a watertight barrier. The suppliers also say that internally all tiles and existing plaster should be removed and then two seperate 10m.m render coats applied then the plaster finish. Are there any plasterers(experts )out there who can either confirm that this is the norm or other ways of providing a suitable surface for re-tiling presuming that rising damp is corrected
