Hi peep's
Have just registered on this forum as I could use some advice please.
I am trying to help a friend out with a central heating problem and would appreciate any input.
The problem seems to be with a Danfoss HSA3 motorised valve.
The heating and hot water come on together regardless of the timer settings.
On inspecting the motor assembly this is what I have found thus far:
There was only one screw holding the motor assembly to the valve head, there should be two.
The manual lever had no resistance against the motor when moving to the manual position.
The motor and quadrant gear teeth look very worn.
Because the motor assembly didnt seem to be working, I didnt bother putting it back on the valve as I assumed the valve was in the mid position feeding both hot water and heating.
It now turns out that the heating is working but not the hot water, so I guess it must have been partly working!
My questions are:
There is a micro switch on the gear assembley, what does it do?
Until I get a new actuator, what position does the 'D' shaped valve stem need to be in, to feed both hot water and heating?
Does a new actuator come with the screws to fix it to the valve assembly?
Thanks in advance
Graham
