The battery operated version will work with the two wires.
That's as was in the RMT230 and now in the TP5001B

Ok, so your old thermostat had a blue wire as a neutral. This needs to be safely isolated in a separate terminal block, so it can't touch any other wires, or the metal back box.
Apart from that, the new thermostat looks like it should work.
