Dash Cam SD Card

Hi,
I have a Blackview D650-2CH dash cam and recently replaced the supplied 16Gb SD card with a Samsung 64Gb card.
After formatting the new card, the cam appears to record correctly for about 5 mins, and then prompts "Check SD Card" and stops recording.
How can I check if the new SD card is serviceable?

Camera works ok when original 16Gb is refitted.

For info the new SD card is - Samsung microSDXC UHS I-card Evo Plus 64Gb
Read speed 100Mb/s and Write speed 60Mb/s.

I cannot find any SD card spec requirements in the dash cam user manual.

Did you buy the card on eBay? There is some free software can’t for the life of me remember the name which will scan the card for you if you insert into a computer as a lot of fakes get sold.

Yes it was an ebay purchase but from a UK supplier and received within 48hrs of purchase. I am always wary of potential copies, but the packaging looks legit.

Have you confirmed that 64gb actually works in that dashcam? many only have 32bg as a max capacity.

The camera supports up to 128gb as per the spec on Halfords. I would connect it to a PC and do a format through that and retry. Take a look at this site for tools to confirm the card is what it says it is. https://www.maketecheasier.com/check-sd-card-speed-capacity/

BTW Doug, are you sure its the Blackview D650-2CH camera?
I cannot even find that one on the manufacturers site - nor halfords.
They have a D750-2CH - was it a typo?

Its a DR650S-2CH. When checking the Blackview website, the model is only noted when searching for firmware downloads (cams discontinued)

Fake Flash Test - Devise has duplicate or bad blocks. Recommended max user partition 12.49Gb
H2testW - Media likely to be defective. 14.6Gb ok. 20 Gb data lost/corrupted. The test ran overnight and I aborted after 9hrs as it was still running!!

I'm returning the card to the ebay UK based seller for refund. Checking the site again and the item has 5 stars with 100's of previous buyers, just wondering whether it may just be a one off defect?

As a matter of interest, what is the going rate for a genuine quality 64Gb micro SD card? Prices online vary wildly and the Blackview website is offering their own at £80 !!!!!!!!!!!

I remember years ago buying some really expensive hair straighteners for the Mrs from a very good eBay seller hundreds of thousands of feedback. A year later they broke and I sent them to the manufacturer who told me they were fake.

Maybe the seller does not even know they are fake who knows.

Thats a good price for a 64gb SD card.
