Hi All,
So boards are all laid and decking is complete. Reasonably happy with the results for a first attempt at this sort of work. It's not perfect and I'm sure a professional would have a whole list of things that are wrong with it but for now it does the job.
My only concern is as we have gone for a ground level deck i.e. turf will be at same level as boards I have put a gravel channel around the frame of the deck between the deck and the turf. Just been out today and much as the first couple of inches of gravel seems to be draining and drying, deeper down it is a little damp against the frame (see photo). Any ideas if I can do anything to prevent this or help the longevity of the deck? There is no soil contact anywhere on the frame and all timber is treated.
Thanks,
Jimmy
