Hope this is a simple question for the experts out there, I'm totally new to this gardening lark !!

I moved into a house recently which has decking - I can't say what specs as it came with the house. I've recently cleaned it using Ronseal Deck Cleaner and a stiff bristled broom, as recommended by many sites. Now when dry it looks much better, however when wet there is still a green tinge of algae on there (though it is much less slippy than it was).

Is that something I just have to live with, or are there better ways to do it ? I did nothing all summer so perhaps I need to apply a second treatment of coating ?

Also the wood is natural, do I need to apply any surface treatments to preserve its waterproofing (I'm assuming the previous owner used decent wood etc etc)

jayes fluid should do the trick and elbow grease.

give it a coat of decking oil after to keep it in good condition

Agree with thermo.

I also powerwash at the start of the season before applying oil.

The golden rule though is to NEVER stain or varnish as you'll be doing it forever ;)
