We are decking a small corner of the garden, 3.6m x 3.2m in size. 4x2" frame sat on old paving slabs. Will probably fit decking lights to the face of the decking (only 2 sides will be visable)

We were looking at composite, but it does seem a lot of money (after you add fixings etc) for an area that wont get used that much, so looked at Wickes premium boards.
Is there any other treated timber that would be suitable for the boards? Not a huge fan of the grooves in wood deck boards, and id like to go for a slightly different look too if possible.

Any suggestions?

Many grooved boards has a smooth rear face, nothing stopping you using that. The grooves do however provide grip underfoot and an easy way to space and hide the screw heads

3.6 m is the length of many decking boards so you are off to a good start. I've used decking for a few different things like fences and my front porch. If you want a really different loo try alternating the board so the first shows grooves and the next smooth side. It would be different.
