Hi, probably a common problem. I am going to install decking, just over the 30cm threshold above the current level of the patio. I would have no problem keeping it just below 30cm to avoid PP but I will be removing the patio and it's sub base, about 20cm depth, so 30cm becomes 50. I have discussed it with the council and they say this would become the new height.
So this is what I would like to do, which means applying for PP which I have never done it before. I know roughly what is needed, just not specifically and to what detail. Does anyone have any examples?
Another option is to replace the patio with topsoil (roughly at the same cost of PP), however it would not leave enough clearance to use the post and beam approach which I need as Idon't want to screw directly into my house, I would rather dig posts away from the house and cantilever. I may have to take this option as I am over my head with the PP process.
