Decking project

I am thinking of a decking project. Looking to lay boards (min 28mm) over 100x50mm joints. It is a reasonable area (50sqm) on fairly flat ground.

2 questions - 1) where to buy the materials? Have seen that B&Q is overpriced and mediocre quality, so probably not from there!, 2) how far apart should the joists be spaced?

1. Go to a builders merchant for decking boards. 6x2 joists and posts can come from anywhere.

2. Joists should be approx 400mm apart.
