Hi
Is it ok to use decorators caulk where exterior putty has cracked away from the glass(but not loose)? Its so much quicker than applying putty with a knife. Its also very neat an leaves a clean edge onto the glass.
One other thing what causes oil based gloss to loose it grip on glass at the bottom of the window, only in a few places and on isolated windows? Gloss overlapped undercoat onto the glass by about 2mm.These windows were painted in November and a small bead of caulk was applyed to the putty/glass joint. Help please :

Moisture on the glass can get behind the paint and begin to bring the paint off.

Silicone filler may be used as this never cures. However you cannot paint it!
Caulk must never be used as this eventually hardens thus causing cracking.
Use good old fashioned putty for the best results!
