Dedicated Hard Drive v Shard Hard Drive

Hello

I use an External Hard Drive with my PC: Western Digital 1TB

Now I am setting up a CCTV system, with NVR Recorder.

Should I get another Hard Drive or use existing Hard Drive, please?.

Pc hard drives are not designed for 24/7 recording ....wd purple or seagate Skyhawk. Would be my preferred drive...
