I have been installing full central heating and plumbing in a house. It comes to commision the oil boiler and the Tigerloop will not draw the oil up to feed the boiler? Spent over day ripping all my work and some of the boiler to bits. Then on fine inspection noticed the oil-way on the Atkinson oil tank valve had not been drilled out, thus NO OIL!! I drilled the alloy body to free the oil and as if by magic boiler springs to life.

Is there no quality control in our British factories these days (although might be contracted out to China of course), came with a Titan oil tank in a kit.

Umm yes!

FANTASTIC PLASTIC, they come in any colour as long as its GREEN.
Anyway, back to my thread. Bad fittings!

Um, SPASTIC PLASTIC is more apt. Make sure you see that the warranty registration is sent off to Titan, or you might find an irate customer chasing you.

would it not of been easier to put a manifold on the pump to see if oil was getting through before touching the burner or cracking a few nuts to see were the oil will and wont flow from, sometimes you look back at a job and think to yourself why didnt i just do that, and forget the simple things.but thanks for the info cause one day ill prob do the same

We would like to point out that the valve mentioned would not be an Atkinson Equipment valve; unfortunately we do not supply the Titan Kingspan group with the filter valve that they supply with their tanks. We do have our own very similar valve but they come from a completely different manufacturer.

In the Kingspan groups defence on the quality control point and the volume of valves supplied every year there will always be the odd one that gets through the system. From Atkinson Equipments point of view products that are referred to by a generic name is something we have to live with being the industries equipment standard, like Hoover is to vacuum cleaners.

Could a moderator of the site please contact us ASAP as this is not an Atkinson equipment product and if you insist on removing our comment defending the liable statements on your site then please remove the topic.

alternatively allow our original comment to stand. We would be happy to give advice about any of our products on this site.

I think it may be that they have taken offence to your signature rather than your post. Take the links to your websites out of your signature and they'll probably leave your posts in. Unfortunately communication between members and mods tends to be a bit one-way at times, so you might not get a reply from them.

Having said that, you've commented on two posts that are both four years old. This will not make you terribly popular, however helpful your posts might be. Posts are in date order, with the newest being on the first page.

Funnily enough, they seem to be trying to intimidate the Admin into responding, on the assumption the site is culpable for the content posted by others.

IIRC they're not.

But then I am liable to make mistakes from time to time ;).

No problem thank you muggles for clearing up what was the issue. I have removed the auto signatures from the posts and changed it back to the original comment. They were only meant if people needed further confirmation to get in touch. I assume a private message or post on the topic would also be appropriate.

Thank you for your comments Dan Robinson, no intimidation was intended, we are not that sort of company. However we would appreciate the right to defend our name when being used in reference to a product not associated with us, or indeed if there was a problem with our product we would like to help.

When searching our product on google this post comes up. Good for the forum, bad for our name as it is not our product.

You ought to note the original post was in 2008. Keep up ;)
