Grateful for some builder's input.
The floor in our dining room slopes toward the centre of the room and there are a few areas that appear slightly 'soft'.
The floor is covered in Karndean so i haven't yet lifted it to figure out what's going on.
The dining room floor is a timber suspended floor (the house is ~1900). There is no access to the void, apart from to take the photo I have attached. It seems that part of the sleeper wall has been removed and the sole plate replaced with a newer timber beam (the end of the beam is visible to one side).
Am I right in thinking this is the likely cause of the movement in the floor?
What would be the best way to overcome this - rebuilding of the sleeper wall? If so, does anyone have an idea about cost?
Any help much appreciated. View media item 34691 View media item 34691
