Hi all, I have a defective wall switch on the third floor of my house and it basically does not work any lights at all. What could be the possible reasons for this?? Any help would be great as I cannot afford to be ripped off, thanks in advance.. ;)

It may not be connected to anything. How do you know it is defective?

Buy or borrow a cheap multimeter, unscrew the front plate and, with the power switched back on :) check to see if there is a live cable to the back of the switch. As jj alludes, it is not uncommon to have an old switch physically left in position after it has been removed, electrically, from the system. If it is live, you may need to do some loft climbing or board lifting to investigate. But get back and let us know what you see behind the switch.
