Dehumidifier causing tripping

Evening,
The lights went out the other night as the fuse board tripped.
It turns out the shed circuit was causing it and specifically a dehumidifier that I assume has blown a fuse.
My question is if I replace the fuse will it happen again, do appliances randomly blow fuses and are then ok?

That assumption may or may not be correct.

It obviously depends upon what caused the fuse to blow (if it has). If a persisting fauklt has developed in the dehumidifier, then the same would happen again if you replaced the fuse. Appliances do not usually "randomly blow fuses and are then ok", although fuses blowing for no clear reason does occasionally happen (pretty rare).

I did go through and methodically isolate circuits and then tools / appliances plugged in the shed. I'm satisfied it's that.....unless I'm even more clueless about electrics than I thought.
I suppose I need to swap the fuse and see. If the dehumidifier is causing it it will blow quickly I assume and I just bin it?
Its an Ebac unit that's been a wrong un' out the box. Rubbish.

I wasn't doubting that the dehumidifier is the culprit but was merely saying that if it has developed a persistent fault, it would persist in 'tripping your fuse board', no matter what you did.

By the way, what is 'tripping' an MCB or an RCD (the latter having a test button)?

I think I’ll need to replace the fuse then and see what happens. If it happens again it will go to the tip, it’s been awful since I got it.
There’s four circuits on MCBs (one of which is the shed which was tripping) which are all protected by an RCD which was also tripping. There’s another RCD on the board which protects another four circuits / MCBs, so eight circuits total.

If both the MCB and an RCD tripped, I would think it pretty likely that some fundamental; fault has developed in the dehumidifier, in which case, as you suggest, it's life may have come to an end.
