design software

hi would just like to ask if anybody knows of any design software available for simple domestic electrical installations not looking at spending a fortune or a free download would be good? thank you.

I think everybody would like a cheap/free one.!!

Depends on what you want to do and to what level of complexity. AUTODESK would be best but its megabucks.

IMHO VISIO is pretty good but its £180 from Senor Gates. You can do a reasonable (but more time-consuming) job with PowerPoint.

You could look at OpenOffice.org the DRAW package. Think thats your free option..

Design what?

CU, sockets, wires etc?

OR mechanical design?

Google's sketchy thingy has been hailed as being free and good.
