Didnt scratch the scratch coat.....help!!

I'm going to sound pretty useless, but I put the "scratch coat" onto the brick surrounding the bottom of my house but didnt realise I actually had to put scratches into the cement.....the cements dry now.
Will this mean theres no point in appliyng the finish coat or can I still proceed?
Any help would be appreciated.....(I feel like cracking up!)

It will depend on how smooth you left the scratch coat. You can pva it or i would get a 4 inch grinder and cut lines through it and that will form a key for the top coat of render.Hope this helps you. S/S

or you could just use a scutch comb to key the surface up.
