I have read in the Readers Digest that DD's are recommended - but in another book that ID's are recommended as DD's are so expensive and are best reserved for those circuits that need special protection.

Would schema would you recommend - by floor or by function (plugs. lighting. etc) or another?? What are the advantages/disadvantages of all.

I have also read that for lighting the disjoncteurs divisionnaires should be 16a but Legrand et al supply their ready populated consumer boxes with 10a? Why?

And one last question..... What governs that "a" of the ID's??

Thanks.

Your profile says "United Kingdom" - is that correct?

What you say does not match UK practice.

Who are you talking about - me or the replier?? Thanks.

I was thinking of you, Leigh - when I read "I have also read that for lighting the disjoncteurs divisionnaires should be 16a but Legrand et al supply their ready populated consumer boxes with 10a? Why?" I thought, that's unusual. UK lighting is usually 5A, or 10A in some commercial installations.

But your summary says

so I wondered.
