New member, looking for some advice for a simple mind!
The flush on my push button system takes ages to fill. Which is a pain as it is the main guest toilet so when you have several guests over it can be quite embarrassing when they come out to say the toilet won't flush.
I have bought a new Fluidmaster Brass Shank Bottom Entry Fill Valve. Thought this would do the trick as the old one is looking pretty dated.
Anyway, started draining cistern etc took old one out and then realised the new brass shank is bigger than the old one so won't fit the current pipe from the mains.
Coming from the floor is a pipe (cold water in), attached to that is a flexible pipe which then secures to the shank. Now I'm not sure if I can get another bottom entry valve that will fit the original one or can I get a new flexible pipe that will fit?
I've tried measuring the pipes but this appears difficult work. The shank on the new one says 1/2" but measuring it (the width at the bottom) is over 1/2".
Any help much appreciated. Can do photos if help but it's more the size thing I think. For info the house is a Victorian house so may explain odd pipe sizes!
