Digital Timer

Is it possible to upgrade the analogue timer on my Vaillant ecotec 831 boiler to a digital model?
If so is it the Vaillant 160 that is required and can I do it myself? It looks a fairly straightforward plug in affair to me but I don't want to get it horribly wrong!
The boiler was fitted in 2007 if that helps...
