What's the big deal with dimmers? Everybody seems to want to put dimmers here, dimmers there, etc, with no thought for the practicalities. Two-way circuits without master-slave set-ups will just become annoying as, inevitably, the dimmer will be at the wrong end of the room (even if you swap them round!). One-way dimmers (turn to switch on) will get high wear and tear as every time you switch on you'll end up either going to full brightness (in which case, why dim at all?) or burning precious seconds of your life fiddling about to get it just right... only to find that when you sit down to read the paper it's just a little too dim for your ageing presbyopic eyes... Then there are those who will try to dim non-dimmable transformers, florries and energy-saving baby-florries. The damned things hum as well - even the quiet ones will filter through to the back of your brain so you sit there in front of the telly wondering where the fly swatter is, or whether you've left your PC on. And then again there are the those who will change the luminaire, shorting out the switched live and neutral and zapping dead the shiny new, expensive chrome dumber switch... Perhaps B & Q could offer counselling, picking out anybody in the queue with dimmers, laminate flooring, downlighters, floodlights, garden water features, etc and making them sit down with a nice cup of tea and a few tradesmen who can explain the folly of their proposed actions?

Sorry... went off on one there... :D

The sheds should offer counselling to all their customers, regardless of what they have purchased...

Instead of counselling (cure), the sheds should offer prevention.
