dimmer switch

Is it possible to fit a dimmer switch to a light fitting that has a two way switch and only one switch could have a dimmer fitted? The other end is part of a 3gang switch and I dont want to faff about with the wiring that end. Im guessing that it is possible, but that the light would switch on at the dimmed rate. True? Or?

Yes, get a dimmer that is suitable for two-way switching. The light will come on at whatever setting u have the dimmer at.

but make sure the light can have a dimmer fitted.

al ot of queries arise on here because the light can not have a dimmer or the dimmer is the wrong rating

Thank you. I will fit a two way dimmer. Its just a bog standard 60w x2 fitting above the table. I like a good light in which to do my paperwork, but dont always want to see what I've cooked for tea all that closely!
