I used white gloss paint earlier, its the second time the paint has been used, i have just looked at the painting i done earlier and there is small bits of dirt all over it.
I dont think the dirt is coming from the brush so it must be in the paint, is there a way of straining the paint to remove the dirt or am i better to dump the paint and get some new paint?

You can both stretch and tape a piece of muslim over a suitable container and slowly decant your paint through it or you could use a nylon stocking/tights.

I tend to get more excited with the stocking. ;)

If the dirt were in the paint it would show up when you were brushing it and be the same colour as the paint. It's probably wind blown.

joe90 it cant be wind blow as the painting was done indoors.

Off topic: which Purdy brushes are best for oil based paints?

Well my preference for oils is the pure china bristle, but that is just a personal choice. Best Purdy synthetic for oils Monarch Elite.

TheDec do you know where the cheapest place online is for the brushes?

Got the Elite brushes, used them yesterday for the first time to paint a hand rail and the finish is a lot better than the brushes i was previously using the paint seems to flow better also. :D
