Disconnect and remove a heater (Ed.)

Any advice as to how to go about it? Main concern is don't want to get electrocuted! It's pretty old (I've attached a pic) - bathroom hasn't been touched in many a decade and this thing doesn't even work! Just want it gone.

Looks very unsafe. Best way is to turn off the big main switch on your fuseboard/consumer unit.
Unscrew the two screws on that switch plate at 9 and 3 o'clock. Carefully pull the plate forward and disconnect the cable that comes from the fan.
Check the connections on the back of the plate are tight.

Then put the plate back, remove the fuse. Turn the mainfuse back on.

Sorry, out of interest, why does it look very unsafe?
I've had a couple of double insulated fan heaters with pull cords, installed (outside of zones) in the small bathrooms of the rented flats I had in years past.
