Please can anybody provide a dummy's guide to disconnecting a washing machine? I am moving house and am trying to save the cost of getting a plumber in.
I'm no expert, but I have just moved home and disconnecting the washing machine was a simple case of switching off two little taps (one on the cold water pipe and one on the hot) and unscrewing the hoses that lead to the washing machine. The taps should be coloured blue and red, about an inch long, and turn through 90 degrees. Hope this helps!
Switch off and unplug mains supply.
Follow rubber pipes from back of machine to water pipes.
Turn off Cold (and if there is one, hot) valve.
Unscrew pipes.
Disconnect drain pipe from wall end.
Put machine on lorry.
