Our wall mounted bathroom mirror needs disconnecting…it buzzes away all day but we don’t use the electric features of it. I planned to disconnect the plug going into the back of it.

We’ve come to take it off the screws it’s mounted on but it won’t budge…there’s literally no movement. My OH got a mallet (and something to tap) and tried to tap it loose but it hasn’t budged. Any ideas how to get it off? Or other ways to disconnect except for cutting and capping the cable (power off obvs)?

We did realise it might be slide off to the side if the mirror was turned but it’s not budging that way either and tapping space is limited and lots of glass around!

It might be fitted like a kitchen cabinet, there will be two little downward facing hooks in each (top) corner which in turn sit on a bracket. The hooks can be loosened by screws which may be visible or hidden by a plastic cover. Make sure someone is there to take the weight from underneath, and so the cable can be disconnected from the back.

Show us pics of the mirror where screws were loosened or removed.
Some have the front as a seperate part to the rear base plate.
Removing the front exposes the fixing screws that anchor the rear to the wall.
