I've just moved into a rented house and there is a spigot for washing machine waste removal which is connected to my washing machine at the moment (as can be seen in my picture labelled below) I want to get a dishwasher and am wondering If I can connect the dishwasher waste to the current waste system........there seems to be an extra spigot that can be connected and also part of the system which is blocked off at the moment as if something can be added there?

Any info would be appreciated, its the first time ive lived on my own and know nothing about these things!

Contact your landlord to sort out any plumbing issues you have.

Don't touch anything, it's not yours to play with.

You could use the spare spigot for a D/W waste, if you could slip it on, and use a jubilee clip to secure it.

Run the D/W waste high (up to the work top ) and then drop it to the trap connection.

At the moment the spigot will be blanked off.
