DISHWASHER PROBLEM

i have recently moved house where there was a dishwasher in place
i think it may be a phillips(not sure how old appliance is) worked fine for the last 6 weeks! now nothing it starts for a few seconds then stops [/i]

There really isn't enough information to try and diagnose a fault.
Is it a Phillips? What model is it? What actually happens when you switch it on?
