Disinfectant in WC cisterns

Everything is fine now we have removed the disinfectant holder from the back of the WC...thanks for the advice.

Not wanting to go through this again (I will never use this type of item in future) but I wonder if it is unwise to use those disinfectant capsules that are designed for putting in the WC cistern? Can the chemical do any harm to the plastic valve or syphon?

I think you would be better off contacting the manufacturer for advice on this one. Should be a number on the product.
