I only use the propane one and rather fancy making an adapter to fill it from a bigger bottle. They must only contain about 25p worth of gas.
Never liked MAP gas.
You could measure the pressure in a new one, T a guage on the connecting tube open the donor bottle just a crack and shut it when the pressure guage is up to pressure. The guage would show pressure in the receiving bottle and the umbilical which is the same.. Then wehn you undo the umbilical the propane will be held by the automatic valve.
This the adaptor you need to fill the bottles that fit the Rothenberger super fire 2.....Thinking of getting one of these myself.Sounds simples.... but remember the thread on the top of the torch bottle isn't BSP, it's a finer pitch than that (I think), finding something to fit could be slightly tricky.
