Hello everyone,

I want to buy a DIY book and caught between three:

1. Collins DIY Manual

2. DIY for Dummies

3. Readers Digest DIY Manual.

Any suggestions?

Have you had a look at them all in bookshops or libraries to see which suits you? Someone gave me the Readers Digest, i think the Collins is similar, you will probably find it tells you a lot you already know, and some things you didn't. everyone has gaps.

I have the Collins one. It's quite good if a little basic. It'll show you how to do things in a DIY way and not the way a tradesman would do it though. There are tools not mentioned in the book that would make the task easier i.e. a grout float, or a paddle mixer. Both can be bought for under a tenner and make tiling much easier.
Overall though, I'd say it's worth having. Amazon have got it for less than a tenner - gotta be good value at that price.
