Hi - I have just tried this morning to inject Fernox Central Heating Restorer into my central heating system. I followed the instructions to the letter. After attaching the catridge to the air vent valve, I had to open the wheel head valve. I did this, and before I was able to inject the solution in, the catridge exploded out of the back! Any ideas what I might be doing wrong??

perhaps you should of fitted the cartridge in the skeleton gun first then worked up all the slack. :)

i bet that made a terrible mess.

Aahhh...OK!
And do think that's all is it?
Mess? You really don't want to know - thank goodness for the extra hour!

after you had screwed the cartridge in, how did you think you were going to attach the gun ?

its expensive stuff to waste.

better to save a tenner. drain the heating & flush it. remove a rad valve. pour the stuff down a funnel into the pipe.

at least this way you will flush out some of the muck before the chemical is even introduced.
