Not a great pic, but here's my replacement cooker hood. The outer shell of theprevious one (stainless and glass) was stripped away leaving the fan assembly and ducting on the wall; and the framing and mdf skin added. New downlighters either side of the fan housing (not the ceiling ones) give good light to cook by.

Why? Wifey said so! Cost? About £80.
