Hi everyone, long time DIYer and reader but first time poster.

I'm building a garden office using 44mm double t&g logs (chamfered square profile - not rounded). I'm designing it myself, taking inspiration from the likes of Tuin, Dunster etc, but having the timber supplier make the cuts and notches for me.

My question is, my longest elevation is longer than the longest length of my logs, so does anyone have any pointers about joining along the length? I'm thinking about joining every other log approx 2/3 from either end, in a brick-bond fashion. Would this be structurally sound?

Also, where the logs butt up to each other, can I just seal this join with some sort of sealant to weatherproof it?

Not sure if anyone's seen any professional cabins with joins along the length? Or if anyone has any advice at all to offer, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sam
