For the past couple of months, I have had a skin tag growing in a rather awkward place - on my upper lip and every time I wet shaved, I would catch it, cut it off, then it would regrow - rinse and repeat.
Reading up on the subject, there are three ways to remove them - cut it off, or put a tight cotton tie around it, or use a freezer kit. I had cut it off a few times, didn't fancy cotton dangling on my lip, so that just left freezing.
I remembered having a wart and varooka(sp?) freezer kit somewhere around, but the freezer aerosol had leaked, though there were plenty of the sponge bud sticks still with the kit. My next idea was pipe freezer aerosol, which might be the very same substance as in the medical kit, but much cheaper and which I eventually tracked down in my workshop. A bit more Internet research suggested the two were identical substances, so I gave it a try on Tuesday evening, following the original medical kits instructions.
Soak the sponge in freezer spray, hold sponge down for 15 seconds, then apply to the skin tag for 15 seconds, head back so sponge was applied down. It went painfully cold, my lip was still a little numb 24 hours later, but 48 hours later the tag has gone and just a bit of a scab where it was.
