Hello,

We will soon have cavity wall insulation inserted. This will be the bead and adhesive type.
We have the electricity meter box in the outer wall leaf and I can see that the dno cable travels from the ground level partially up the cavity for about half a meter and then out to the meter box. Tails then carry the power back across the cavity and inner wall to the indoor cu (40cm run).
The build is from 1984.
Are these dno cables unsafe if insulation gets to them?
The cable appears to be thick plastic cable.

Regards

EPS + PVC cables = melty mess.

Suggest an alternative type of insulation unless you want to remove all of the cables from the cavity first.
There may be other cables elsewhere, as it's not unknown for certain types to sling circuit cables into the cavity.
