Hi all, i am going to stud and plasterboard our integral garage this year, leaving enough room at the front to open the garage door and use that space for storage - bikes etc.

Do i have to membrane the floor where the room will be or will that already by taken care of when the house was built (New build 2 years old)?

I'll be battening the floor and putting in the polystyrene blocks for insulation and then chipboard. It's going to be a gym hopefully.

Thanks in advance

one would assume a building aged only two years will have a dpm beneath the garage floor.

that said we would still put strips of dpc beneath the timbers.

Thanks mate, the floor is dry even when boxes have been there and removed, no sign of damp or nowt :)

Good tip for the strips DPC under the wood though, will use that one :)

Thanks

Thanks.

Don't suppose you know much about breaking through a wall to access the Void at the back of the house do you?
