Do I need to be worried about this crack in the wall? starts at where the gas pipe goes into the wall and goes upwards

looks as if that crack has been there for some time? it has been filled with mortar historically.

Questions, how old is the property? how long have you owned it? did you mortar up the crack?

Internally are there any indications that there are cracks in the same [approximate] area of the external crack?

Looks as if this crack runs from the left hand side of a door upwards towards the right hand side of an upper window.

is this crack [roughly] central on the wall?

Ken.

property's about 130 years old
Ive owned it a few weeks
Internally no indications of crack
the crack starts at the gas pipe which is about a quarter of the way across and finishes at about a third of the way across

OK does not sound like Subsidence, more like a form of thermal movement.

Did your Survey make any mention of the crack?

no nothing in the survey - they only mentioned a damp problem

I very carefully chipped away at the mortar around the pipe on the outside and this is what I found. I also pulled the pipe sleeve out (which is where it should be)
Doesnt look like there is a cavity? Also it seems the the guy who installed the pipe drilled too much of a big hole which may have caused the crack??

Pics from the external wall side

whats the best way to patch up that hole?? the sleeve needs to be protruding on both sides and I think sealed on the inside
