Hello, I bought these fire bricks with instructions on how to make a circular fire pit. There's various different designs that you can do with them. On the last photo, it shows the fire pit that the previous owner made using them.
I bought them second hand and the guy I bought them off said that the bottom layer of the ring needs to be cemented together. Is this correct or can I just lay them all next to each other and on top of each other without actually cementing them? They're going to be going on top of 20 mm gravel if that's any relevance.
