Right I just want some reassurance here please. We are in the process of having our bathroom refitted. When we first looked into this we were told we would need a whole house pump as we had no hot water going to our bathroom apart from the shower which is operated by something else  .
It turned out that the reason we had no hot water was that it had been switched off and I think this could only have been when we had our tank changed.
Now how do I know if it is really necessary to have this whole house pump which was originally recommended fitted? I dont want to fork out money if its not necessary, but if we do need it then we will have it. Any ideas???

Hello Mother of 3.

More info is needed:
1. what type of heating/hot water system do you have? hot water cylinder and cold water tank in loft?

2. How big is your house/how many bathrooms/toilets?

3. What size of pump is being recommended?

The obvious answer is to turn it back on and see how the HW performs.

Sounds as if you may be the victim of a cowboy plumber?

Its a 3 bed house with 1 bathroom including toilet

I have a tank I think an immersion in my bedroom.

I dont know what size pump it is but from the sound of the price etc it is 2.2

I did think we should wait and see if it is needed, will try it tonight.

You will need a pump for the shower but not for the bath. Do not buy high pressure taps.

Before the new suite was installed no hot water came out of the taps. This I believe was because it had been switched off but now it does if that makes sense
