Had to disconnect some garden lights recently and finally got round to taking the lights off the gate posts today, only to be showered with woodlice from inside the light, and the hole in the gatepost through which the white pvc solid core cable is run.

The cable has a complete N-E short, which left me wondering if woodlice eat pvc and caused this?

The cable was run under their driveway in conduit so protected from mechanical damage to some extent, but seems to have just been brought up inside the hollow gateposts. I do not plan to dig their patio up so will be re-running in swa.

Any Naturalists (or Naturists  ) out there?

No.

They eat, and live in, damp or rotting wood. They have ineffective teeth. They probably found a cosy nook to sleep in round the lamp.

They have to live in damp areas because they lay their eggs in water droplets or wet crevices. If you find then in your bathroom or loft that is a sign of a leak. they are related to lobsters but are not very tasty.

Never mind JohnD folks, we've got DavidB here.....
