My kitchen tap is a mixer tap with a long neck that hoops over. If i run either the hot or the cold tap individually or both at the same time, when i turn it or them off i still have water coming out!!?? is this normal because it is really annoying! is there a way to stop this??

Then you need new washers...
Does it just run and drip for a little while?
This is just emptying out the neck....
If its old taps and you have never replaced the washers then thats what it will be...probaly
