does diynot have a "advertisers" forum?

i'm looking to have a bathroom fitted and quite a few good knowledgable guys on here i was wondering if there was a forum where you could ask for tradesmen for work rather than trusting a small ad in the back of a newspaper???

or alternatively is there somewhere on the web that already does that of sorts? has a place where ppl can leave recommendations for plumbers/builders etc?

I know of a couple of people who have had work done by members of the forum, however these are usually chance encounters. Free advertising is not allowed, since the forum's only revenue stream is via paid google adverts.

You COULD have a look through the plumbers forum at regulars' locations, and add them as friends and PM them, or write on their "wall", to see if they are interested in any work you can put their way. But not on the open forum. Regulars are not allowed to advertise their services.

Think its been suggested before, but it would involve admin setting up a proper invoicing system etc, which I doubt they have at the moment - its more like a hobby than a full time job for him i suspect

Try Trustmark. They are government sponsored, unlike Checkatrade etc etc.
