My builder seems to think that it doesn't? He says that only engineered flooring needs to

Am i right in not buying his line of thinking?

Have always laid straight from the packet, no problem , expansion gap takes care of what little movement there might be.
The packs I bought said to lay immediately once open, presumably because laminate needs to snap together, allowed to acclimatise it could move at differing rates and no longer clip togther.

Read the instructions it says "aclimatise" or words to that effect.
