Hi

I'm looking to purchase a recently renovated terrace house.

Due to the nature of the property, is over 3 levels, the lower level being a cellar at the front of the house, yet ground level to the rear (due to the hill the terrace is built on.

The house has recently been completely renovated, including a full DPC wich we believe is fully guarrenteed.

This Saturday we which for another look around the house and noticed mould being to form in two areas of the lower ground floor towards the front of the house.

Basically an area is forming on the back wall at the back of a cupboard, which is attached directly to the back wall, and also on a wall which has a radiator on it. We thought it might be a sign of damp.

The vendor of the house (which no one currently lives in) has looked at the two areas and has said that due to the weather and the fact that no one lives there it is 'sweating' that is occuring and causing the mould to begin to form and not damp, as the DPC (tanking??!) has just been done.

Obviously we are now very worried by this development, could 'Sweating' be the problem?!? Or could it be something else, such as damp?!? Or a leaking pipe (one area is near the radiator?!?)

Please help!!! :(
